ADAPTATION- the key to long term survival

Through it's gardens, aquaponic and hydroponic systems, and adaptive program, Sustenance, the addition to the historic Divine Lorraine hotel, will help revitalize rough, forgotten North Philadelphia while making no impact on the environment. Poverty stricken people who live in poverty stricken environments are most affected by the detrimental impacts of climate change, pollution, and a food desert. Social sustainability is needed. Sustenance will create jobs and a become a place where people can learn and be appreciative of the achievements of their neighbors. Sustenance is a self-sustaining building that will encourage a self-sustaining neighborhood.
